Affair with myself

Two posts in a week! A-m-a-z-i-n-g I know – its incredible what a bit of extra time off work can do for my ability to play dress ups in Second Life!

And it seems that each day has found me embracing the new viewer a little more, now that I can play around with shadows which has been fun, if a bit laggy at times. There are still things I hate about the Viewer 2 format – I know hate is a strong word & maybe its just me being a creature of habit and wanting to stick with a format that I love, but there are some things to the new Viewer which bug me a lot – namely IMs and notices – I know some people love that they don’t get inundated with notices while they’re inworld but personally I’d prefer a blue box or a group notice hanging in the right hand corner of my screen until I acknowledge it by either reading the message or discarding it.

As for IM’s, it would be nice if this was similar to the old system as well, I find it a bit silly to make it so hard to find or click on the IM box at the bottom of my screen when I’m in Viewer 2, I usually click on the wrong thing and end up closing an IM box without even knowing who’s trying to get a hold of me, le sigh.

But I digress because I have more yumminess! When I saw Glam Affair send a notice about their new Lingerie sets a few days ago I had to run over and grab some, especially this set with the lace neck piece, it just screams seduction! The bodice itself is incredible as I could not spot the seam usually found wearing something on a jacket layer, attention to detail that really shows.

Speaking of attention to detail, Siddean Munro of SLink dropped her Ariadne II heels on me just before I left France a couple of weeks ago and its only just now that I’ve had a chance to upack these beauties. Similar heel to the original Ariadne, these have an exposed toe and the SLink HUD which makes it easy to adjust – the other thing I love about the HUD is if you’re wearing the Jolie nails from SLink the HUD automatically colours both your toes and your fingernails in the same colour.

Now if I could just find a RL manicure/pedicure that could do the same thing that quickly I’d be in heaven, I’m in desperate need of both right now! But I can’t really complain, I did get my hair done today & maybe not as gorgeous as my new LeLutka hair (or in a fatpack of colours to choose from!) it feels good to be pampered a little, especially after a weekend of painting interior walls (with more painting this weekend as well – oh joy! not)

Has Been? Definitely Not!

Well maybe only in name but not in ability! Sasy teleported me to Terrie Dreadlow’s store Has Been a few months ago and I was amazed at the quality of her clothing. But what really knocked me off my feet was the fact she was selling her new released for only 50L per colour! And still she does this so of course I had to join her VIP Group (only 100L to join) and have been loving the Group Gifties ever since.

As soon as I saw the latest offering the Demure series I had to go grab the lot! These vintage pieces are beautifully made, with lovely attention to detail and even better they’re interchangeable. At 50L each they are a bargain, but even her regular prices are so affordable, I just wish there was a fatpack option!

The hair is one of the latest styles from LeLutka which I can’t get enough of! I’m off to the hairdressers tomorrow and I only wish I came out looking like my avatar, she’s got gorgeous hair, bitch 😛

Untamed Ezura

What a week it’s been! If you haven’t been to Another Fundraiser then Go GO GO! There are some great deals to be had on make ups and skins, definitely limited release things…. I’m going to work my way through my favourites in my next few blogs to give you some idea of what you can get.

Starting with this amazingly creative skin by Coffee Biscuit. Sasy & I were wowed by it when we saw Coffee putting her vendor up for this, at the same time that Creamy was there. I stupidly made a comment about Creamy Coffee (hey! I was tired, lol) before logging off & was then unable to sleep for several hours stressing about what I was going to do for Another Fundraiser.

Its been a real honour to be involved in this one, the last time Another Fundraiser was held, I was relatively new & only found out about it in the last few days but I grabbed a lot of goodies that I still drag out the back of my wardrobe and dust off every once in a while.

I’m wearing the Untamed Teddy from Ezura. A new store to me thats filled with lots of lacy goodness as well as these Sci Fi style Bodysuits. The Fabric is semi sheer… just enough to cover everything that it should but at the same time shows off a bit that it shouldn’t 😉

Another Fundraiser

The 3rd anniversary of Another Fundraiser was only just this week and it seems timely to be doing another one with everything that is happening in the world at the moment.

All proceeds are going to aid Red Cross relieve effort in Japan.

Mint Julep, Anyone?

About a week ago Allegory from Schadenfreude plurked about this gorgeous prim corset that she was finishing up to release for the March Mint Madness Event being held over at Twomoons Island. This corset has been a challenge for me but one that I’ve enjoyed as I’ve had to create a new shape to fit it. When you think about what an actual corset does to your body irl, it actually makes sense to adjust your proportions to fit it.

According to wikipedia (because it is an absolute authority on everything….) it suggests:

A corset is a garment worn to hold and shape the torso into a desired shape for aesthetic or medical purposes (either for the duration of wearing it, or with a more lasting effect). Both men and women are known to wear corsets, though women are more common wearers.

In recent years, the term “corset” has also been borrowed by the fashion industry to refer to tops which, to varying degrees, mimic the look of traditional corsets without actually acting as one. While these modern corsets and corset tops often feature lacing and/or boning and generally mimic a historical style of corsets, they have very little if any effect on the shape of the wearer’s body. Genuine corsets are usually made by a corsetmaker and should be fitted to the individual wearer.

The corset Allegory has made really falls more into the latter as far as virtual bodies go. I love the shape of your body when wearing this, I’ve been wearing it since Allegory sent it to me and have been tinkering around with an especially made shape for it as well, getting it to a state that I feel would replicate the contortion it would do to my body if i were reallywearing it, my boobs would sit higher, my ribs and waist would be sucked in tight with my hips curving like a perfect hourglass figure.

I love the HUD that comes with the corset, makes it so easy to change (if only irl! haha) and the colours of the main corset are gorgeous. But I’m really hoping she does more patterned ones as well, like the Mint Julep fabric, the attention to detail on the finishing touches on the seams and the boning can not be faulted.

Its made me think about getting a real corset in real life, I could only imagine that the cost, to have one specially made and custom fitted would be extremely expensive……. but possibly worth it. I really think I was born in the wrong era sometimes, I believe that I would wear something like this, all the time.

Hostess with the Mostess

When I unpacked these goodies from Miseria my first thought was of the Cigarette Women from the 40s & 50s who used to walk around with the trays selling Cigarettes in Clubs back in those days.

I love the material these have been made with and the finishing touches of the little buttons on the gloves and at the top of the Thighs on the Bodysuits.

What I did struggle with was finding stores that made little Cocktail Hats and Fascinators, after a few hours of scrounging through the Marketplace and the Feeds, Sasy & Whims logged on and within minutes they were both pasting links in chat from the Marketplace and Sasy was scrolling through her Inventory to see what she had hidden away in that voluminous cavern 😛

Funnily enough…. when I went for a hunt through my own inventory one of the hats I found happened to be made by Sasypants herself – AND IT WASN’T ONE OF THE ONES SHE SHOWED ME! I love how she’s so funny like that….. always so keen to suggest other Creators workpieces and never think to suggest her own creations. You need to give your own creations some acknowledgement woman! ❤

My first SLove

What a better what to start this off then with my first Slove of Lingerie… Insolence by Camilla Yosuke.

It was about 6 months after I rezzed into Second life that I found out about Insolence. Of course it was a boy who took me to Camilla’s store the first time around & I absolutely fell in love with her delicates. While I was taking photos for this post I was talking with Sasy about the quality of the workmanship Camilla has put into her pieces, even the items I got as far back as 2007 are as well made as a lot of Lingerie that is currently being released.

While I was putting this post together, I went back to Camilla’s store to pick up a few more items and there was a slight issue with the ruffle of one of the sets, I sent Camilla an offline to let her know (it was the permissions bug when the object is modify but you can’t modify it) and she responded really quickly and sent me a new one. Its service like that which goes a long way as far as I’m concerned, its lovely to know the person who has created these beautiful goodies is just as lovely as the creations she makes.

And whats even better…. Everything in the store is Transfer which means that you can gift them! Over the years I’ve purchased a few sets from Camilla’s store as gifts for Girlfriends – I believe Lingerie is one of those gifts that is absolutely ok to give to friends. Usually you have a better idea of what she is going to like more then her partner does! And if you’re anything like me, just putting a little something special under your clothes makes you feel sexy and good about yourself all day long!
